Maywood is a primarily residential neighborhood located in Arlington, VA. One of Arlington’s earliest neighborhoods, Maywood is a designated Historic District with strict guidelines designed to protect the vintage character of the community. Unlike so much of Arlington, Maywood has not experienced the avalanche of tear downs that is so common throughout the city. The community features and eclectic mix of Queen Anne, Craftsman bungalows and Colonial style homes that were developed starting in 1909.
Maywood is bounded by Lee Highway to the south, I-66 to the east, Lorcom Lane to the north and N. Oakland Street and N Nelson Street to the west. This is one of the most convenient locations in Arlington for committing to DC. Residents enjoy the amenities at the nearby Lyon Village Shopping Center which include a Starbucks, Giant, CVS and the Italian Store.
