Columbia Forest is a neighborhood of single-family homes located in South Arlington. The community features modestly-sized Colonial-style homes many of which were built in the 1940s. The community was originally developed under the direction of the Army Corp of Engineers by the Defense Housing Corporation to house the families of young officers and ranking officials. The neighborhood of 238 homes is now a historic district.
Columbia Forest is located in South Arlington and is bounded by George Mason Drive, Four Mile Run, Columbia Pike and S Jefferson Street. This location is directly east of Bailey’s Crossroads and offers convenient access to the Pentagon, Washington and major employment centers in Northern Virginia.
