Washington DC Luxury Homes are Waiting for You
As the nation's capital, Washington, DC., is home to the many power brokers and area elite who expect only the best when it comes time to finding a place to live. The term "luxury" can mean different price tags in different communities. In the Washington, DC, area, luxury properties can run upwards of $25 million although many start in the multi-million dollar range. Properties range from mansions in McLean and Great Falls, Virginia, to historic town homes in Georgetown to newly built lofts in downtown DC. There are also still undeveloped areas largely in the suburbs of Virginia where wealthy buyers can purchase a $1 million acre of land and transform it into their dream home.
Most of the luxury neighborhoods in the District are in the Northwest quadrant and range from trendy condos and penthouses with water views to Victorian style manses. The District also has its share of new builds in both single family infill lots as well as in the development of new high-end condos or condo conversions. Some of the more prestigious neighborhoods in the District include Kalorama, Georgetown, and Dupont Circle -- each with its signature charm and easy access to transportation and a wealth of modern conveniences. Logan Circle and Penn Quarter are trendy additions to this list offering contemporary lofts with soaring ceilings and light-filled views of the Downtown.
