Tynan Coffee: A Columbia Heights Favorite
Introducing Tynan Coffee at 1400 Irving Street NW
Tynan Coffee is a contemporary take on the neighborhood coffeehouse serving locally sourced pastries, bagels, fresh fruit as well as sandwiches and soups, in addition to breakfast options and coffee. Known for its chill, relaxed vibe, Tynan also offers a "Take-One-Leave-One Bookshelf." The program makes it easy for voracious and casual readers alike to exchange and browse through books while savoring a cup of coffee. A two-hour pass for complementary Wi-Fi is available with any purchase.
Adjacent to the Columbia Heights Metro station, Tynan also offers happy hour specials with a selection of local wines and domestic beers. The mostly craft beer list includes choices ranging from Sam Adams Boston Lager to a Clipper City Marzen from Baltimore, and the Smuttynose IPA from Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The wine selection hails from an award-winning local vineyard in Maryland.
About Tynan Coffee & Tea
Brothers, Jim and Brian Sullivan lived in the D.C. area all their lives and specifically founded Tynan as a relaxed alternative to large corporate chains. Their mantra has been to stay local, be independent and remain authentic to the communities they serve. The Sullivans recently opened a second location at NoMa/Capitol Hill North - 1275 1st Street NE. Both locations are popular hangouts with a diverse crowd coming in and out the entire day.
