Dupont Circle Patterson Mansion On Market
TTR Sotheby's International Realty has just listed the iconic Paterson Mansion located directly on Dupont Circle. This last remaining grand mansion on DC's most famous traffic circle was designed by architect Stanford White and completed in 1901.
If the walls of the Patterson Mansion could talk......there would be many fine stories to tell. The home was once owned by Chicago Tribune heiress and DC socialite Eleanor "Cissy" Patterson. In 1927, the Patterson Mansion served as the temporary White House during renovations at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. During this time frame, President Calvin Coolidge hosted Charles Lindbergh at the mansion following his solo transatlantic flight. The 36,470 square foot, 4-story mansion located at 15 Dupont Circle is well positioned to serve as an embassy, foundation, social club or association headquarters. The Patterson Mansion is listed for $26 million.
