DC Area Children’s Events for Halloween
Looking for some Halloween fun in the DC area that the entire family can enjoy? During the months of September and October, you can celebrate Halloween at any of the venues below.
Halloween Haunt at Kings Dominion
From September 27th to October 27th, this amusement park, located in Doswell, Virginia, features ten mazes, monsters and scare zones as well as the traditional rides. The Howl-O-Fest is the ultimate party for kids. Come out during daylight hours for age-appropriate fun in the KidZville and Nickelodeon Central areas of the park.
Boo at the Zoo
October 25th through the 27th is the perfect time for kids to visit the National Zoo in Woodley Park to discover bats, owls, spiders and other creepy animals. They can trick-or-treat while exploring haunted trails and everything the zoo offers.
Fright Fest at Six Flags America
Open from September 28th to October 27th, Six Flags is located near Baltimore, Maryland, and offers a special trick or treat trail for kids as well as the opportunity to enjoy favorite rides in the dark.
Halloween Spooktacular at the Kennedy Center
On October 27th at 1pm and 3pm, the National Symphony Orchestra will hold a family concert at the Kennedy Center in Foggy Bottom. All musicians will be dressed as ghouls, goblins and ghosts for the performances. Kids are encouraged to arrive in their spookiest costume and get in a little pre-concert trick-or-treating.
Halloween Trains at Montgomery Parks
Montgomery Parks will host two different Halloween train rides ideal for ages eight and up. This event happens on October 12th, 13th, 19th, 29th and from the 24th to the 30th with a charity donation of a can of food the price of admission.
