Barcroft Real Estate
Barcroft is a quiet, residential neighborhood located in Arlington, Virginia, that dates its history back to revolutionary times and the era of George Washington. The community takes its name from Dr. John Woolverton Barcroft who built and operated a mill shortly after the Civil War known for the largest wheel on the East Coast. The housing stock includes an eclectic mix of homes in a variety of architectural styles built from 1918 through the 1950s. The community is distinguished by at least one Lustron enameled steel home and a Sears “kit” home. The 1960s saw the rise of townhomes and apartment buildings constructed on the edges of the neighborhood along Columbia Pike which continued its growth through the 1980s. Residents prize the combination of small-town charm with easy access to the District of Columbia.
Barcroft is located just south of Washington, DC, bounded by George Mason Drive, Columbia Pike, Arlington Boulevard, and Four Mile Run Park.
