Stronghold Real Estate
Stronghold is a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood located in the northeast quadrant of Washington, DC adjacent to the Brookland community. Legend has it the neighborhood’s name comes from a 1950 era baseball team organized for local boys dubbed “The Strong Hold.” Because five of the six streets that comprise the neighborhood are dead ends, Stronghold has very little traffic – neighbors connect with each other via a network of alleys crisscrossing the area and are able to avoid the main streets. Properties in Stronghold are Federal-style row houses featuring big yards and front porches that are popular for socializing in the warmer months.
The Rhode Island Avenue and Brookland Metro Stations on the Red Line are each a 15 minute walk away. Stronghold boundaries include Michigan Avenue to the north, North Capitol to the west, and the Glenwood and Prospect Hill Cemeteries to the east and south.
