Foxhall Real Estate
Foxhall is an affluent neighborhood located between Georgetown and Palisades in the northwest quadrant of Washington, DC. The community was deliberately designed to resemble an English village and draws its inspiration from the town of Bath, which one of the original builders visited and hoped to recreate in Washington. Today there are 350 homes within Foxhall’s triangular boundaries, many of them brick Tudors. The majority of the homes were built in the late 20s by rival builders who attempted to outdo each other with custom details such as fireplaces and side and front gables.
While the neighborhood is largely residential with few eateries, home owners are content to travel to Georgetown or Palisades for dining or shopping needs. Indeed, much of Foxhall’s appeal is its location -- a short bus ride or drive from downtown -- but with a suburban village feel. Foxhall is in the National Register of Historic Places and is bordered by Reservoir Road on the north side, Glover-Archbold Park on the eastern border and Foxhall Road on the west and south sides.
