Colony Hill Real Estate
Colony Hill is a cozy, exclusive neighborhood located in the southwest corner of Glover-Archbold Park in the northwest quadrant of Washington, DC. The housing stock is largely traditional with architectural styles paying homage to New England, and Georgian and Grecian themes. The neighborhood has an interesting history, stemming from a colorful building feud in the 1930s. Harry K. Boss has just completed a group of Foxhall Village Houses when rival builder, Waverly Taylor, started a rival development that blocked the view of many of the Boss homes. Enraged and to spy on Taylor’s future plans, Boss built a group of Colony Hill houses just north of Foxhall Village and moved himself into a home on Hoban Road.
Today Colonial Hill consists of just five streets with 35 homes set back on spacious lots: Reservoir Road, Foxhall Road, 45th Street, Hoban Road, and Hadfield Lane. To the north and east Colony Hill is bounded by Glover-Archbold Park and to the south by Reservoir Road and by Foxhall Road on the west.
