The Capitol Riverfront has benefited from more than $1 billion in public investment in optimizing its riverfront destination.    Major employers in the area include the U.S. Department of Transportation, Booz-Allen-Hamilton, and the Bureau of Land Management, as well as  number of new businesses that have sprouted as part of the revitalization.

Housing options are largely new construction, including new high-rise condo and co-op developments such as Velocity and Capitol Hill Tower.   The Capitol Quarter Townhouses provide an additional 323 residences.

Adjacent communities include Capitol Hill, Anacostia, and Buzzard Point, to name a few.  Capitol Riverfront boundaries span the Southeast Freeway to the north, Pennsylvania Avenue to the west,the Anacostia River to the south,  and South Capitol Street, P Street, Q Street, and 2nd Street to the west. Both the Navy Yard and Capitol South Metro Stations are within walking distance.  Capitol Riverfront also provides easy access to I-395 and I-295.
