Burleith Real Estate
Burleith is a community of distinctive single-family row houses nestled between Georgetown and Glover-Archbold Park in the northwest quadrant of Washington, DC. The neighborhood is wholly residential, providing seclusion and close proximity to wide open green spaces while also being centrally located near the Wisconsin Avenue shops and buses to downtown. The 535 homes in the neighborhood were largely built in the 1920s by developers Shannon and Luchs. While the name “Burleith” is not always recognizable to those outside the ‘hood, residents cite it as a quiet, more affordable way to experience the benefits of Georgetown living.
A gated community called “Hillandale” located to the west is typically included in the Burleith district and has been home to US Senators as well as a list of Washington’s elite. In addition to being a convenient location for many Georgetown University students, Burleith is also the site of the French embassy. Burleith is bordered by Whitehaven Park to the north, Georgetown to the south, Wisconsin Avenue to the east, and Glover-Archbold Park to the west.
