DC’s vibrant U Street Corridor will soon be home to another luxury condo building. Bozzuto Homes is developing the hotly anticipated Parker15, located at the southeast corner of 15th and V Streets, NW. The 9-story complex is slated for completion in 2016 and combines contemporary exteriors with the area’s historic location as a backdrop. The 96-unit building features brick and metal accents with floor to ceiling windows in each of the units to maximize natural sunlight and showcase the sweeping views of the city from different vantage points. European-style cabinetry with sleek quartz countertops and gleaming hardwood floors offer inviting interiors for residents and guests.

Rich Musical History

The Parker15 site has a storied history as the location of the former Dunbar Hotel. One of the most popular hotels in the 1950s and 1960s for prominent African-Americans, the Dunbar played host to a number of musical greats who stayed at the hotel while performing at U Street jazz clubs. Guests included Nat King Cole, Count Basie, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Duke Ellington, among others. In a nod to the jazz roots of the area, Parker15 draws its name from jazz saxophonist and composer, Charlie Parker. Parker is credited as a leading contributor to “bebop” – a form of jazz characterized by fast tempos and rapid improvisation.

A Design for Everyone

Prospective buyers have a choice of one bedroom, two bedroom and studio floor plans priced between $400,000 - $750,000. Amenities range from a rooftop deck, community lounge and patio to underground parking and bike storage, among other onsite services. Perhaps the most desirable amenity is Parker15’s location with easy access to the Metro Green Line as well as the more than 40 bars and restaurants that contribute to the acclaimed nightlife of the area. Home to eight art galleries and seven local music venues, the U Street Corridor is also a popular shopping destination for furniture, antiques and one-of-a kind gifts. U Street is a short walk to Dupont Circle and is part of the larger Shaw neighborhood.
